SUMMER 2026

Middle School Math Foundations Program

A 6-week small-group summer course designed to help students strengthen core math skills, fill in learning gaps, and begin the school year with greater confidence.

Many students enter the school year with small gaps in their math understanding, and those gaps can quickly make new material feel frustrating or overwhelming. This course helps students strengthen number sense, improve fluency, and build the foundational math skills that support success in middle school. Through guided instruction, targeted practice, knowledge checks, and a small-group setting limited to just 6 students, students will leave the course more confident, more capable, and better prepared for the year ahead.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Build Stronger Math Foundations Before School Starts

This course is designed for middle school students who would benefit from stronger math foundations before the next school year begins. Many students move from one grade to the next with small gaps in their understanding, especially in core areas like number sense, operations, fractions, decimals, percents, and early algebra. While those gaps may not always be obvious right away, they often become much more noticeable once new concepts are introduced and the pace of the class picks up.

Our goal in this program is to help students strengthen the skills that matter most so they can approach middle school math with more confidence and less frustration. We will focus on helping students become more fluent and accurate with foundational skills, while also developing stronger problem-solving habits and more confidence working through unfamiliar material.

This course is especially valuable for students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade who want to feel better prepared, more confident, and more successful in math. By the end of the program, students should leave with stronger fluency, improved understanding, and a more solid math foundation to build on during the school year.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Why a Strong Foundation Matters

Middle school math builds quickly, and students who begin the year with gaps in foundational skills often find it harder to keep up as concepts become more complex. A stronger foundation makes it easier for students to solve problems accurately, follow new instruction, ask better questions, and feel more confident in class. This course is designed to help students strengthen the skills that middle school math depends on most so they can begin the school year feeling more prepared, more capable, and more confident.
