180 point improvement

“My daughter took an SAT course at Cascade Tutoring and worked with Jessica and Andrew. She felt so confident after each session and even more so going into the test. They individualized the instruction to meet her needs specifically. 10/10 would recommend!"

HOW YOUR STUDENT MOVES FORWARD

Small group.
Individual priorities

We start with a baseline, identify patterns in missed questions, and use that information to guide instruction and practice.

1

Prepare before class

Students are given targeted practice between sessions to work on improving their skills on targeted content. Students arrive ready to apply what they've learned and ask for help.

2

Practice with feedback

We combine direct teaching with coached practice. Students work through foundational, intermediate, and advanced questions as appropriate for their needs.

3

Use results to adjust

We review errors and practice-test performance to set the next priorities. Students learn how to recognize a mistake and approach the next question differently.

The weekly commitment: 2 hours in class, plus a suggested planning allowance of 1–2 hours for videos and practice. Full-length practice tests require additional time on assigned weeks.

Course developed by Andrew Jensen, Cascade’s founder. Master of Arts in Teaching, OSU–Cascades · Former classroom math and science teacher of 10 years and SAT tutor. The program brings clear explanations, deliberate practice, and individual feedback together. The instructors use proven methods and research backed pedagogy.

WHAT WE TEACH

The skills behind the score

Content knowledge and test strategy work together. Students practice both.

Build understanding. Choose an effective approach
  • Algebra, equations, and functions

  • Advanced math, data, geometry, and trigonometry

  • Desmos and choosing when to use it

  • Checking answers and reducing avoidable errors

Example practice focus

Solve a system algebraically, compare it with a Desmos approach, then decide which method is more efficient for the question.
